We tent camped the second week in July. The owners keep things nice. Gave us great advice on a where to eat in town and things to do and see. Bathrooms were clean. Other guests were great as well. They have 4x4 side by sides for rent to hit the high mountain off road trails. I would stay here again.
The owners provide group activities such as pot luck, camp pie nite etc. and appear to want to make sure you are enjoying yourself. The sites are neat as well as overall campground including very nice showers and rest rooms. We enjoy returning each year.
We rent two cabins for a week. From the time we got there till the time we went home, Alan and Linda made us feel right at home. The cabins was clean and comfortable. The restrooms and showers was always clean and ready to use, day or night. Free coffee ready at 6:30am sometimes with sweet goodies. These two folks work from early in the morning to way late at night for everyone. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a nice,clean, and friendly place to stay. FANTASTIC experience!! The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They do a great job taking care of the place. The bath house was extremely nice all times of the day. We had a large cabin and fit 6 people. It was tight but very do-able. We would do it again in a heart beat!
It was a delight staying at the Elkhorn. My first time staying in Lake City was made all the more special with the care that the owners took with making sure I had everything I needed with my site, and as solo RVer, the help was appreciated with backing in to my spot. The Coffee Cabinet was the best! Trying to plan for my next time back.
